How to Setup Subscription Pricing

Create Subscription Price Plans

Insert subscription based price plan(s) into the system. If you have the GeoCore Max (both classified ads and auction functionality) edition of the software you will need to create both a classified subscription based price plan AND an auction subscription based price plan. You can insert new price plans within the PRICING > ADD NEW PRICE PLAN admin tool. Within the GeoCore Max edition both a classified and auction price plan need to attached to the same user group and both of those price plans need to be of the same type (ie subscription OR fee based pricing). You cannot attach a fee based and subscription price plan to the same user group.

The adding a new price plan support wiki page explains the specific steps to adding a new price plan

Create Subscription Periods Within Price Plan

Within your newly created subscription based price plans create the subscription periods you want to have available to the users in that price plan. If you have the GeoCore Max edition you'll need to put all the subscription periods you want to use in either the auction OR classified price plans that will be grouped together in the same user group. You only need to set the "full subscriptions offered" in one price plan (auction OR classified) as the subscription periods from one price plan will overwrite the subscription periods of the other price plan when attaching to a user group. Even though this happens when attaching price plans to user groups in the GeoCore Max edition every subscription price plan that appears in the list as a choice to attach to a user group must have at least one subscription period within it. So even though a subscription based price plan will be overwritten it still needs at least one subscription period.

The add new subscription choices section of the support wiki describes the above in much more detail

Create New User Group

Next create your new user group within the USERS/USER GROUPS > ADD NEW USER GROUP admin tool. Enter the name, description (optional) and registration code (optional) you want for that user group. Then select subscription based from the next setting. Note though that if you see red text to the right of the subscription based option to the effect of "make sure subscription periods are set up" that you must return to the previous step and add at least one subscription period to each subscription price plan you want to attach in this step. You may need to toggle between fee and subscription based to see all options.

The adding new user group support wiki page explains how to do this

Attach Price Plan(s)

From the following choices choose the subscription based price plan you want to attach to your new user group. If you have the ClassAuction edition you'll need to attach both a classified AND auction subscription based price plan to your user group. You will also need to choose which price plans subscription periods will overwrite the other within the ClassAuction user group. Just remember the one you set all your subscriptions periods within the previous step and make sure that price plan overwrites the other. Note though that you can always adjust subscription periods within the details of the price plan even after a subscription based price plan has been attached to a user group.

The attach price plans to user groups support wiki page describes the above process in much more detail.

<tip c n>Note that the subscription periods between two subscription price plans attached to the same user group will be "synced" by the system so beware if you use one or the other price plan if that price plan is attached to more than one user group</tip>
