Design
In every page in the admin under this section1), the options available to you will be different depending on if in advanced mode or standard mode, and also what you currently have selected under Design > Template Sets for admin editing. Read below for an overview of the main differences between standard mode and advanced mode.
Differences between Standard and Advanced Mode
The main goal of the Standard Mode is to provide enough information and give enough control to do "day to day" design changes, it takes out the information and controls that are not needed by most people when they may need to change the design. Advanced mode gives full control and displays more information, so much so that it can be overwhelming for users still getting used to the design system. Advanced mode is only recommended for those already familiar with the basics of how the design section works, and who may need more control than normal.
Below is an overview of what is different when in standard mode vs. advanced mode. Note that it will not list every single difference here, just the main ones.
Design > Template Sets admin page:

Except for Design > Text Search page, which will show all search results regardless of in advanced mode or not, and regardless of what template set(s) are set to admin editing.
