Post Affiliate Pro Integration

This addon is available for free from the public downloads section. It adds integration with the 3rd party software Post Affiliate Pro 4.

The addon adds what Post Affiliate Pro 4 refers to as "clicks tracking" to each page in the software, and "sales tracking". Click tracking will track affiliate referrals to your site, so that each visitor that is an affiliate referral is "linked to" the affiliate. Then when that visitor makes any payments for things like listing fees, subscription fees, etc1), it uses sales tracking to give a commission to the affiliate that referred the visitor to your site. It even tracks sales when an order needs to be approved by the admin, even tracking by IP, which is something that could not be accomplished using other integration methods within the software. All you need to do, is install and enable the addon, then enter a few settings, and the addon does the rest (see below for full instructions). Note that with this addon, there is no need to integrate with your payment gateway, since the addon handles sales tracking for you. With this addon, there is no need to edit any templates to add integration, the addon does it all for you! In fact, if you have previously added integration yourself, you will need to remove that integration2) before you use this addon, or it can cause conflicts with what the addon does.

Note that Post Affiliate Pro 4 is 3rd party affiliate software, and is not associated with, owned by, or affiliated with Geodesic Solutions, LLC in any way. The addon itself is created and maintained by Geodesic Solutions, and serves to integrate the Geo software with the 3rd party Post Affiliate Pro software.

Installation Instructions

Follow the steps below to install the addon and make it start reporting clicks and sales tracking to your Post Affiliate Pro 4 (PAP4) software.

Requirements:

  • Post Affiliate Pro 4 software installed, at least version 4.1.4.53) or higher. Refer to documentation on Post Affiliate Pro 4 website for help installing the software. <
  • Able to access the PAP4 files from the Geo software. <

Install/Setup Instructions

  1. If this is the first you are using Post Affiliate Pro with the Geo software, and have not previously attempted to add integration, continue on to the next step. Otherwise, if you have previously added integration by editing Geo templates or by other means, you will need to remove any such integration within the Geo software before continuing4). Once you have verified that any integration already added yourself has been removed, continue on to the next step. <
  2. Download & un-zip (extract) the Post Affiliate Pro Integration Addon from the Public Downloads section on our website. <
  3. Follow steps 4-9 in the main addon installation instructions. <
  4. The addon should now be installed and enabled in your Geo software. Now go to Addons > Post Affiliate Pro Integration > Settings in your Geo admin panel. <
  5. Enter in the locations for the Post Affiliate Pro absolute folder and Post Affiliate Pro URL (without http://) settings on the page, and save the changes. <
  6. The settings will be checked to make sure they appear to be entered correctly. Make sure that the setting checks displayed below both settings show that you have entered the correct values. If either report problems, double check the value entered and make sure there are no typos or similar problems, you can also refer to the error message displayed for hints on what the value needs to be. <
  7. Once both settings are set correctly, enable the integration by checking the box next to Enable Integration at the top of the page, and save changes. <
  8. You are done! We recommend to keep an eye on at least the first several sales to make sure the sales tracking is working correctly. <

Other Affiliate Software Choices

This free addon provided by Geodesic Solutions, LLC. is used to integrate with the 3rd party affiliate software Post Affiliate Pro 4, however it is not the only affiliate software integration available.

The Geodesic software also comes with IDev Affiliate integration built in for all editions of the software. You can enable the IDev integration in the admin panel, more info: IDevAffiliate Integration

Note that it is not recommended to use more than one 3rd party affiliate software.

Note that it does not track transactions between sellers and buyers, it only tracks payments made to the site.

Since that is the earliest version that the API file was included with the PAP4 software, and the integration requires the API to function.

Failure to remove already added integration will result in duplicate data in Post Affiliate Pro, or may simply cause the integration to not work at all.
