The Post Affiliate Pro Integration Addon is available in the Public Downloads in our client area. It adds integration with the 3rd party software Post Affiliate Pro 4.

Note that Post Affiliate Pro 4 is 3rd party affiliate software, and is not associated with, owned by, or affiliated with Geodesic Solutions, LLC in any way. The addon itself is created and maintained by Geodesic Solutions, and serves to integrate the Geo software with the 3rd party Post Affiliate Pro software.

Here is some information about the Post Affiliate Pro Integration Addon:

• Requires at least Geo version 5.2.1 <
• Requires at least Post Affiliate Pro version 4.1.4.5 <
• Allows software to seamlessly integrate with Post Affiliate Pro 4, to allow affiliate referrals to be tracked and paid commissions on any purchases made by referred users. For more information on how Post Affiliate Pro works, see the vendor's website. See below for more details specifically with how the integration works inside Geo software. <
• Adds clicks tracking integration: Able to track which affiliate (if any) referred each visitor on your site. <
• Adds sales tracking integration: In combination with clicks tracking, this allows commissions to be paid to the referring affiliate, on any payments made between a user and the site. This includes payments for listing fees, subscription fees, and any other payments between a user and the site. It does not track transactions made between buyers and sellers. <
• Sales tracking records the user's info at the time the order is placed, but it does not track a sale until the order is approved and activated. This means that orders that are completed, but payment is never received, are not tracked. It also means that it does not incorrectly track the "admin user" as the party making the purchase, if the order needs approval from the admin, such as with cash or other manual payments.
  • Technically speaking: The order is not always active on the "payment made" step, sometimes it requires admin approval (such as for cash payments), or it may not be active until the payment gateway sends a "payment received" signal to the software (such as with Paypal). In such cases, at the time the order is approved and activated, the sale is correctly tracked to the original user's cookie or IP for the user that placed the order. It does not track a sale until the order is approved and activated. <

• Able to track by IP or cookie, even when order activation is delayed as described in the point above. <
• The addon handles all Post Affiliate Pro integration needed:
  • No need to edit templates or anything of that nature. <
  • No need to use any of the payment gateway integration methods that are listed on the Post Affiliate Pro website¹⁾. <
  • Make sure this addon is the only integration you use with Post Affiliate Pro and this software. If you use any other integration methods in addition to this addon²⁾, it can result in duplicate commissions! <

Follow the steps below to install the addon and make it start reporting clicks and sales tracking to your Post Affiliate Pro 4 (PAP4) software.

Requirements:

• Post Affiliate Pro 4 software installed, at least version 4.1.4.5³⁾ or higher. Refer to documentation on Post Affiliate Pro 4 website for help installing the software. <
• Able to access the PAP4 files from the Geo software. <

Install/Setup Instructions

1. If this is the first you are using Post Affiliate Pro with the Geo software, and have not previously attempted to add integration, continue on to the next step. Otherwise, if you have previously added integration by editing Geo templates or by other means, you will need to remove any such integration within the Geo software before continuing⁴⁾. Once you have verified that any integration already added yourself has been removed, continue on to the next step. <
2. Download & un-zip (extract) the Post Affiliate Pro Integration Addon from the Public Downloads section on our website. <
3. Follow steps 4-9 in the main addon installation instructions. <
4. The addon should now be installed and enabled in your Geo software. Now go to Addons > Post Affiliate Pro Integration > Settings in your Geo admin panel. <
5. Enter in the locations for the Post Affiliate Pro absolute folder and Post Affiliate Pro URL (without http://) settings on the page, and save the changes. <
6. The settings will be checked to make sure they appear to be entered correctly. Make sure that the setting checks displayed below both settings show that you have entered the correct values. If either report problems, double check the value entered and make sure there are no typos or similar problems, you can also refer to the error message displayed for hints on what the value needs to be. <
7. Once both settings are set correctly, enable the integration by checking the box next to Enable Integration at the top of the page, and save changes. <
8. You are done! We recommend to keep an eye on at least the first several sales to make sure the sales tracking is working correctly. <

This free addon provided by Geodesic Solutions, LLC. is used to integrate with the 3rd party affiliate software Post Affiliate Pro 4, however it is not the only affiliate software integration available.

The Geodesic software also comes with IDev Affiliate integration built in for all editions of the software. You can enable the IDev integration in the admin panel, more info: IDevAffiliate Integration

Note that it is not recommended to use more than one 3rd party affiliate software.
