Allow/Block Email Domains

  • Allow only specific email domains to register into your site.
  • Allows you to only allow users from within your company or domain to register into the software.
  • OR Block specific email domains from registering into your site.
  • This allows you to block specific nuisance domains from registering to your site.
  • You can user either the block OR the allow feature. You CANNOT use both at once or conflicts will occur.

Where Do You Manage Allow/Block Email Domains?

Look to manage this feature within the following admin tool:

REGISTRATION SETUP > ALLOW/BLOCK EMAIL DOMAINS

When you go to the above admin tool you'll see the following:

Within that screenshot you'll see:

  1. This is where the email domains you wish to administer will appear in a list
  2. To add a domain to the list type it within this box and click "add to list"
  3. This configuration tells the software to allow only those domains to register into the site OR to block all the domains within the above list.
  4. Once the choice is made in 3 above click this to save that choice.

Allow

With this option you have the ability to specify certain domains that you want to allow to register on your site. In other words, only users using email addresses from the particular domains you enter here will be able to register on your site. No use of "wildcards" is allowed within this feature. The below screenshot is an example of a configuration where you would only allow registrants that registered with an email from the following domain:

geodesicsolutions.com

Block

With this option you have the ability to specify certain domains that you want to block from registering on your site. Users using email addresses from the particular domains entered into this admin tool will NOT be able to register on your site. No use of "wildcards" is allowed within this feature. The following is an example configuration where you would block registrations where the email domain is within:

gmail.com
hotmail.com
yahoo.com
