This is a addon added with v7.1. This feature controls the display of featured listings within the top of the category browsing page. This new feature allows you to set a number of featured listings to display at any one time as well as allow the featured to scroll to display many more than can display at an one time.

highlights of the Featured Gallery Addon:

• display featured listings (with and without pictures) in the top of the category browsing page
• only listings from the currently browsed category and subcategories will display
• you can choose which featured levels display within this feature
• you determine how many listings will display with each "page"
• can choose to display on more than the first page of results for a specific category (category home page)
• determine the size of images displayed within this specific feature
• you also have independent control of the fields displayed within this feature
• you have independent control of the length of description displayed if you choose to display it
• listings displayed within this feature are chosen randomly just like other featured modules in the software

To start using this feature you'll need to enable and install the Core Display addon in the following admin tool:

ADDONS > MANAGE ADDONS

Then you turn on and control all but what fields display in this feature here:

ADDONS > CORE DISPLAY > FEATURED GALLERY SETTINGS

You will see a screen like the one below where you can set site wide setting for this feature:

Within that screenshot you'll see these controls that will affect that feature site wide:

1. turns this feature of the core display addon on/off. Check for on
2. by default this feature will only display within the "home page" for a category. When you link to a category without pagination selected that is the home page. If there are more results than can be displayed on the first page you will see pagination links at the bottom of those category browsing results. If you check this setting you will show those same featured gallery results at the top of the second page of results for that category
3. If this is checked the listing type (auction or classified) will be displayed within this feature
4. this is checked by default. If this is checked this display will automatically scroll through the pages of featured gallery results. If unchecked only the one page of featured gallery results will be displayed
5. max number of featured listings will display if the simple carousel feature is checked. We suggest coordinating this and the next setting so that the next setting evenly divides into this setting
6. this is the max number of featured gallery listings that will display at one time. You can consider this as the max amount that will display on a "featured page" if the simple carousel is active. And will be the max number of featured pic listings that will display if "simple carousel" is unchecked.
7. this allows you to select which featured level listings display within this feature
8. this is the max dimensions of the thumbnail size that will display within this feature
9. this is the max number of characters of the description will display if you have that set to display within this addon within the LISTING SETUP > FIELDS TO USE admin tool
10. this is the link to the site wide settings to control which fields display within this feature

To control the fields that display in this feature site wide look to the following:

LISTING SETUP > FIELDS TO USE > "DISPLAY IN ADDONS" TAB

You will see settings like the ones in the following screenshot:

That just shows the standard field configuration in that screenshot but you'll see the same configuration for all fields that can display within this feature.

And you can control field display on a category by category basis here within the admin tool:

CATEGORIES > CATEGORY SETUP > [EDIT] (NEXT TO A CATEGORY TO CONTROL FOR) > FIELDS > "DISPLAY IN ADDONS" TAB

which looks the same as the previous screenshot.

• This feature ONLY works in the top of the category browsing page. It can't be "moved" anywhere else
• The scrolling functionality added with this feature can also be used by other featured pic modules in the system with a slight change to the css around them.
• We suggest that you make the max number of listings to display a multiple of the number of the listings to display at once.
