Sniping Bid Prevention

One of the frustrating things about using auction sites is that someone can swoop in at the last minute to make a bid not allowing you to respond if you have been outbid. This is commonly called sniping but we're sure it has a few other labels attached to it…none of them nice :) . We have included a feature in our software that can alleviate if not stop that issue. You can set the software to extend an auction by a certain amount if a bid is received within a set amount of time to the end of the auction.

Where do you manage the auction extension feature?

Look to these settings in the admin tool:

LISTING SETUP > GENERAL SETTINGS > Extend an Auction by

LISTING SETUP > GENERAL SETTINGS > . . . when a Bid is made within

You can extend the auction up to an hour if a bit is received up to an hour before the auction end. Both of the above settings can be adjusted from 1 to 60 minutes.
