There are a couple extra easy steps to protect the admin tool further than just the login protection provided by default. They are optional and by no means are we saying the admin tool isn't protected well by the admin login but many clients want a little more privacy when it comes to their admin tool. These are the extra steps you can take:

1. Change the name of the admin directory - If you find a Geodesic software installation anywhere you know by default the /admin directory is where the admin tool is located. This would be common knowledge to anyone using our software. You can change the name of the /admin directory to what you want. Just follow the change admin directory instructions in a subsection to this.
2. Add Basic Authentication protection to the admin directory - This is feature of the Apache server that allows you to add an additional login on a directory so that any access to that directory would require an additional login. To find out more go to the add basic authentication page.
