Cannot Connect To DB

If you ever see this when you go to your Geo installation the Geo software cannot connect to the database currently setup within the config.php. If you haven't configured the config.php to connect to a database this isn't a problem. Set up the config.php file with the information needed to connect to the database you created for the software to use and this message will disappear.

Backing Up your Database

Hosting companies will typically perform database backups for all of the databases on your server on a daily basis. If your host has this service you are most likely charged for it. Then if you actually need to restore a backup to your site there could be a service fee involved and if not they may simply provide a backup that is only usable in the same backup program as the one they used to get that backup. Read the fine print with your host or ask them questions. P…

Domain Alias Tips

For your site, you may wish to set up more than one domain name that "points" to your website. For instance you might have example.com and example.net registered that you want to use for the same site.

The best way to do this, is to pick what you want your main domain name to be, and make all other domain names

First, thank you so much for your purchase of our software. Some clients wish to keep the changes they have already applied to their software trial on our servers. This will allow them to basically "start where they left off" in the trial. Please be sure to contact any of our sales staff to obtain a backup of your trial installation. The trials will be live for a period of two weeks. We will have access to the database for that trial for another two weeks after th…

Several clients express a wish to run the software on their local machines while they are configuring their classified and auction software. This can certainly be done but there are a few things you need to be aware of.

Our software runs in a Internet server based environment which is not the environment of the local computer you connect to the Internet with. But you can emulate the Internet server based environment on your local Windows-based computer through the use of a…

My Site Is Down!! What gives?

First you need to determine what is down. Your server, your connection to it or your Geo software. If you can get to your site or more specifically you can see other elements hosted on your domain but can't get to anything in your Geo software installation we're the ones to consult. But if you can't get to anything hosted on your site this can be one of a few things:
